I don't know what he is trying to do, but he can't give his rights to see the child to someone else.

Why would he do this? If you want to visit the child, either he can let the child visit you during his periods of visitation/partial custody or you can try and make your wishes known to the child's mother and she can allow it.

If you want to get custody,the parents and you could do it consensually and an agreement can be drawn up, provided that the morher and father both consent. If the child's mother does not agree, you will need to bring a custody action against them.
