Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Non-Custodial Parent Moved .. How is child support determined?
I am the non-custodial parent of two sons living in south central PA. I have recently relocated to Arkansas. When I left PA I was about $4800 in arrears as I had not been able to find work for the past 7 months. Domestic relations and the custodial parent has been informed of the move. What state will now have jurisdiction? How will arrears be handled? Will the ordered amount in PA continue to accrue? I am seeking employment and want to pay my support obligation, but don't want to be taken advantge of. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Pennsylvania retains jurisidiction and the order will continue to accrue. Mother can register the Order in your new state and it will have to enforce it. If out of work involuntarily, you can file to suspend or modify the order to reflect your changed circumstances.
