Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Must Obtain Court Records

I have had a few custody hearings where at each one my ex contradicts herself between what she has written in court papers, and what she has said during hearings. I would like to know if I could get the documents that the court reporter types during the hearings? Does it cost anything to get these records? Can I go about getting them myself, or would I need a lawyer to obtain them for me? Thank you for your time.

Re: Must Obtain Court Records

Actually their easy to get if you have the money.

You need to know the date and time of the hearing, the docket number and the parties.

Next look up the court reporter office at the court house. Then ask what it will cost to get the transcript. Generally they aren't cheap generally in the range of $2 per page. If the court has issued a decision more then likely the transcript will be available rather quickly otherwise you'll have to wait while the transcript is typed up.

That said the time to catch the contradiction is at trial.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me, the initial consultation is free.
