Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My parents were marrried 25 years then got divorced. My father was supposed to pay my mother alimony in the amount of 1,000 a month and he only paid alimony for about 2 years and hasn't paid anything in the past ten years. I actually read the divorce papers and they say that he must pay alimony until either parties die or my mom gets remarried which she has not. My mom is retired now and living in a low income place, she really could use the money owed to her. Is it possible to get the alimony still?

Without actually seeing the order, its hard to say, but if she was awarded alimony as you stated, then yes, this could be dealt with through a contempt proceeding, assuming it was made part of the divorce decree.

She should consult with an attorney. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to give me a call.
