Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
If both parties fill out the Marital Settlement DIV-SETLAG-NOCH-US form, and sign it in front of a notary, then:
1. What's next?
2. Will this process actually count as a marriage separation?

Thank you for your question,
A Marital Settlement Agreement also known as a Property Settlement Agreement settles the marital property between the parties and is signed in contemplation of divorce. There is no "legal separation" in Pennsylvania.
Following the execution of such an Agreement is usually the entry of a Divorce Decree.
