Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

paternity

Over 1 year ago, I was court ordered to submit to a paternity test. I was found not to be the father. I just received a letter from Domestic Relations stating that the order was being rescinded. How could this be, if I am not the father, and was not court ordered to pay support? Does this mean I must submit to another paternity test?

Re: paternity

I do not understand how the Order could be rescinded. If you would like to schedule an appointment, I would be happy to look at the Order and make a phone call for you at no cost.

Based upon your zip code, we must be very close.

Re: paternity

James,

Actual biological paternity and legal paternity can be two different things. It is possible to have a DNA test determine that you are not the biological father, yet still be financially responsible to support the child. You should contact an attorney to discuss your exact situation as the issue is very fact specific.
