Planning for a divorce
I am in the beginning stages of planning to ask for a divorce. I have 3 questions.
1. I want to know if I can change the locks after I ask him to leave? The house was purchased while we were married, however he ''Quit-Claimed'' it to me. 2. Because it was ''Quit-claimed'' to me he has no rights to the house correct? 3. If I liquidate one of my IRA's before I ask him for the divorce, does he have rights to the funds?

generally any assets aquired during marriage are marital property subject to equitable distribution. I would advise you to speak with an attorney about your situation since each situation is unique. if you would like to consult with our office you can contact me to schedule an appointment
