what do we need to do to adopt a baby from the birth mother without involving agencies

Re: private adoption

You need the child's mother and father to consent to terminating their parental rights. You then need to file for an adoption.

You can do it without "agencies" however, I wouldn't recommend trying to do it with out a lawyer as there are lots of ways to screw the process up.
