Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Protection from fictitious PFA

My wife filed for divorce, yesterday. She claims she's keeping the house and kids. I told her NO WAY that we'll sell the house and I'm fighting for 50-50 custody. I have heard horror stories about people filing fictitious PFA's to force the spouse out of the house. I wouldn't put this past my wife... how do I protect myself against this. I am a mild mannered man, never in trouble with the law but I don't think this will matter. Can I pre-empt her potential filing... I don't know what to do and am very afraid that I will be shafted.

Re: Protection from fictitious PFA

First, if your wife has an attorney you need to get one as well.

Second, no one not even an experienced family lawyer can predict how custody and/or equitable distribution will come out.

Third, a false filing if proven could get her in more trouble than she wants.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
