can i go after the house even though i do not work and it is in his name only?we purchased a new home and still have the old home which i'm living in now which hes paying on, he had two affairs and the one is going to be moving in with him.i spent time over there with the up keep of the house and construction.he promised me a home because i don't want to be here in the old house due to the first affair he had for several years.i am filing divorce with the help of my mother but wondering if i will get anything.he owns his own business too.

Any asset aquired while you were married are marital property subject to equitable distribution. There are various factors to consider and cases differ due to thes factors. Length of marriage is important. The business if aquired during the marriage is also subject to equitable distribution. If he had it before marriage then the value of appreciation since marriage would be considered. I suggest you contact an attorney as soon as possible to discuss your individual situation.
