Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I have a question about the legal requirements in PA for naming my child. I am married, and my husband and I have different last names. My husband and I have agreed that the baby should have my last name, as his last name is that of someone other than his father. Is it legal in the state of PA to give our son the mother's last name??

The law requires that every person has a first and last name. The only exception is if you're already famous and only have a single name like Cher or Bono.

So as long as you have a first and last name for the child you're legal.

Mother's and father's name appear on the birth certificate. So everyone knows who's who.

{John}
