Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Hi, i had a question. My son is now 10 months old and his biological dad has not been involved in his life in any way ever.. my fiance has been there through the whole pregnancy and has been dad since birth. Now my fiance wants to adopt my son to make him his own.. what steps do we have to go through to acheive this? Does that involve getting in contact with the biological father in any way? No one is on the birth certificate but me(the mother). THank you

Not so fast. Before any adoption marry your fiance, after all if he's good enough to be dad he better be good enough to be your husband. If you don't you'll have to adopt your son after you get married,

So here's the steps you need to follow to do the adoption correctly.

1) Marry your fiance.

2) Have new hubby adopt son, by the way as his wife you'll be adopting the child too.

2a) as part of the adoption process bio dad's parental rights need to be terminated. You

can make him an offer he can't refuse, Sign the papers and NEVER have to pay

child support. That usually seals the deal.

3) After the adoption update the child's birth certificate and Social security info.
