Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I currently receive child support for my daughter. She will not be 18 unitl October 1, 2011. She will not graduate high school until June of 2011. When will I stop receiving child support from her father? I received a letter from the court saying that they are investigating to see if she is emancipated. Why would they be asking that?

Hello:

Based on the dates you have provided regarding her birthday and graduation date, child support will continue until she graduates. I am not sure why the court is investigating to determine if she is emancipated. What I can say is, a parent does not have an obligation to support a minor child if that child is emancipated. Perhaps her father has made an inquiry into the subject of emancipation.
