Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

RE:Custody of Son

My exfiancee move to California with my son? She has no intention of returning and won't let me speak with my son. I have been and I currently send $4oo.oo a month and on occassion a bit more. She continues to call me and tell me of her financial failures/sort comings and throws this weight on me by guilt. I am human and she has my son, so I tend to give in and heplout in her time of need. She is living in a 2 bedroom apartment with her sister and 5 children. my son has been sleeping on a couch for the past 5 months not a bed. I need to have custody of my son. Can you please help me and give me some direction and financial guidance. She has told friends that I am not on the Birth Certificate. I can not act like he is not my son or sweep this under the rug. My son needs to be in a stable atmosphere and have a father figure in his life and something as simple as his own bed. My ex has three children by three different men. This seems to be a poplular trend that she practices and she tells me I have no rights to him. She has continuously denied me bringing my son back here to PA. and assures me I have no chance. Please help me!!!

Re: RE:Custody of Son

You asked about custody.

You need to engage an attorney immediately. There is a window in which a parent can seek to contest custody in the former locality of the child.

I would go on, but no need to. Seek a family lawyer near you to begin this matter immediately. Make your ex fight this fight on your turf rather than allowing her to gain the advantage. There are resources for fathers seeking custody and you should investigate those also.

Roger
