Represenation Conflict Of Interest

My wife and I are currently represented in a suit against

a contractor.

Is it a conflict of interest and/or illegal

for our attroney to give advise , regarding divorce, to either one of us without the other spouse's knowledge ?

The attorney who represents both of you in the civil case should not represent one party versus the other as such representation would be adverse to one of his current clients, namely the other party. Both the husband and the wife should obtain new counsel for the new matter. I offer free consultations.
