Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

want to know my rights

I am not legally married to my husband in the US, but we are legally married in Nigeria. I am thinking of getting a divorce, we have been together for over 10 years and have 2 children. The mortgage and cars are in his name. Do I have any rights to anything or everything belongs to him. How do I go about this since I do not know anything about divorce rules of Pennsylvania.

An annulment might adversely affect your property rights. If there is no problem with your marriage under our laws you can ask the court to divide your marital property (generally everything either of you acquired while you were married and living together), you can ask for support for yourself and your children and other relief.

The title to marital property does not determine which of you would receive it.

To reiterate, you should see an attorney in your county to review your rights. The more information you give your attorney the more likely he or she will be able to give you good advice about your options,
