Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
rules about doctors visits
I have a temporary joint custody order with my 4 year olds father, and he took her to the dentist with out notifying me, I thought by law he had to. He said he only has to tell me how it went. I have never missed any of her appointments, and now I have missed her first dental appointment, is there any thing I can do to try to stop this from happening again? Doesn't he have to notify me as soon as he is aware of the appointment? Is his fiance allowed to go into the room with him, isn't that a violation of the HIPPA law?

If you are to avoid court he needs to communicate better with you. You should politely inform him that you need to be notified ahead of time. If he refuses than you may need to file a modification petition. I offer free consultations.
While it may be a technical violation of Hippa,, I would hope the fiancee is there to provide moral support and therefore is doing an act of kindness.
