Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I have been separated from My husband for 4 years now, and he filed for divorce beginning of last year "2009" we split due to Domestic Violence. I have been trying to get in contact with his lawyer and he will not speak to me! I guess my question is... Can we be divorced if i have not signed anything? and would i be able to get Allomony? I am currently unemployed and he is working for a gas/oil company. Thank you in advance for you answer

Your husband's lawyer will not speak to you because of ethical issues. You need your own lawyer. The answer is yes, you can be divorced if you have not signed anything. You will be served with a divorce complaint. If you do not answer, your rights to alimony and equitable distribution will be lost forever. Get a divorce lawyer now. If you are unemployed, you may be able to get what is called alimony pendente lite (alimony during the litigation over the division of your property) and/or spousal support. You also can request counsel fees from him. No guarantees, but you are financially dependent.
