Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Splitting an business 50/50
I have been married for (5) years and have been separated for 1.5 years. We had started a business (3)years ago. I quit my job to start the business while my husband continuned with his job. I did most of the research all of the financials, design, etc of the business. I was 100% owner, but signed over 50% of the shares to my husband. I have moved to another state (our business is in PA), so nhe has been running the store, since I have left. What are my rights with this business, I know that I am entitled to 50% of the business and 50% of the assets, I am aware of those rights. Can I have my husband buy my shares of the business through the divorce or are there other steps to this process? Are there certain rights involved on his part that can limit me from doing so? I feel that I am entitled to a large portion of that business and do not want to walk away from something that I worked so hard on...
