Spousal Support/Alimony

My husband of 18 years recently decided he wanted a divorce. We sold our home, paid off our bills, split the money and moved into separate apartments. I am out of work due to a work related injury and have a worker's comp lawyer working on a settlement for that. Meantime, I have no income other than what my husband (we have not divorced because I need his medical coverage) decides to give me. I don't want to raise a stink until I know what my rights are. Is he required to pay me spousal support? We have a daughter attending college and he does support her. But do I have any legal rights to demand he pay me a certain amount each month to help cover my expenses? My worker's comp lawyer does not want me collecting unemployment or even asking for food stamps. I am totally dependent on whatever my husband gives me. Is there such a thing as spousal support in Pennsylvania, and what would the percentage be that he would be required to pay me?

Yes there is Spousal Support and Alimony Pendente Lite. Consult an attorney who practices family law and file a petition for both quickly. you can file yourself at the Domestic Relations office in your county.
