Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Can my spouse collect alimony?
Me and my spouse have been married for 4 years. He was unemployed when I married him, and was only employed during the last year of our marriage. He always made significantly less than me. We had a child together, but he was never a stay at home dad, because our child went to daycare. If I'm correct, alimony is mainly for spouses where one spouse is a stay at home mom, and the other works to make money. But I feel that my spouse doesn't deserve alimony because he never contributed to the family, and it was his decision that he left me. Do you think the courts would still rule in his favor if I stated my case? And are there any loopholes that I can use against him?

Re: Can my spouse collect alimony?
Alimony is awarded generally when equitable distribution is insufficient to allow the parties to go on with their lives.
There are 17 factors the court may consider in awarding alimony. One of which is fault. That if your divorce was on the grounds of indignities then he might not be able get alimony.
Generally if he can earn a living he probably won't get alimony.
