Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

SSD and estranged working wife

I receive SSD total $2100/mth, I was married over 30 yrs. became injured and after 2 surgeries, also became heavily addicted to pain medicine. We seperated in 05. It was then that she was awarded in court (i failed to appear) $1200/mo of my check leaving me with $900. She filed for divorce 3 yrs. ago and I have since responded going on 1 year. The mortgage was paid off on the house (she is living in) 6 mnths ago., and she works full time. Also, my son died and she adopted our grandaughter and receives SS for her since 2007. My lawyer is dragging her feet and I have asked her to modify this award but now she is sick. Can you tell me what you think the outcome of this could be and will it benefit me? She also received several hundred $ for about a year out of my work disability award which ceased and I no longer receive that either. The house needs to be put up for sale and split, and I do get a pension. Is this extreme for spousal support? She is working with grown children and had been working for a number of years before our separation. Is this legal when she is self sufficient? What do I do? I have no earning potential and need my disability in full. Where do I go, help! I am living in my sister's basement.

Re: SSD and estranged working wife

I suggest you seek a second opinion with another attorney especially if your lawyer is ill or you are otherwise unsatisfied with her. Your case has too many complicated issues. You need to speak with an attorney who can assess the whole situation and ask you additional relevant questions.
