Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

What State do I have to file for divorce, Tx. or Pa?

Husband and I were married in Tx. Immediately moved to Pa. where he resides. Was there for 3 yrs. Oct. 11, 2004 I moved back to Texas. He still resides in Pa. In which state do I need to file for divorce? This will be a simple uncontested divorce. No children of the marriage and what is in his possession is his, what's in my possession is mine.

If your husband has been a PA resident 6 months or more you can file in PA. The no-fault proceedure here is a paper process no court appearance if no economic issues. We can help you through the PA divorce.

Each state will have a statutory residency requirement for filing divorce. Texas attorneys should be able to tell you the length of that requirement in Texas. If you are intending to remain a resident of Texas, it may be beneficial for you to keep your domestic relations action in your home court. Always confer with an experienced local attorney prior to taking any legal action.

I wish you the best.
