Step Father Would Like to Adopt My Children

I am an American and my husband is British. We have been married for 5 years and live in England. I am from Pennsylvania. My children are 13 and 7; neither one has ever had any contact with their biological fathers but they receive child support, enforced by the state. How can I go about getting the biological fathers to relinguish their rights so that my husband, the only father my children have ever known, can adopt them? One thing that I worry about is that if I start taking any action that they could try and take my children away from me. Where do I stand on this matter?

You should speak with an English attorney. If the father is willing to voluntarily relinquish his parental rights there is probably a preferred affidavit that he fills out and signs. The fact you are asking him to consent to the adoption shouldn't affect any custody order in effect.
