Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Is there such a thing as financial abuse?

My husband and I have been married 4 years in the 4 years I had recieved a workman's compensation settlement (in New Jersey) of over $14,000.00. My husband talked me into putting it into stocks and other things. Ever since I can remember he has controlled our finances, leaving me with no money, for the last month I have been walking around with $1.00 in my wallet, I do have access to our checking account but when I take money out he yells at me and wants to know what it's for. We also now have a 4 month old son and I don't like to be with out money. We almost divorced before in New Jersey pretty much for the same reasons only it was more verbal abuse. Is there such a thing as financial abuse? What can I do talking to him doesn't work.

Re: Is there such a thing as financial abuse?

There is no such thing as financial abuse under the law. One of the difficult aspects of a marriage is handling the money. I suggest you look into some marriage counseling to see if that will help.
