Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Do I have to travel out of my home state to attend custody support hearing?

Is it possible to have my portion of support information reviewed in the state I live(VA) in verses having to travel 8 hours to another state?(PA)There is already a current support order in (PA)where mother and children live.I have lived in Va. 12+ years. Mother is now requesting increase in support. We do have a child support enforcement here in Va.If so, how would you go about this?

Re: Do I have to travel out of my home state to attend custody support hearing?

Can I review a PA Child Support Order in VA where I have lived for 12 years?

No.

Jurisdiction for any existing Order lies exclusively in the Court that issued it.

If an Order exists, it can only be transferred to another Court by that issuiung court. As an original matter, you could only make Virginia the jurisdiction for the child if the child lived in Virginia as his home and domicile for at least six months.

Virginia in the scheme of your case is only a collection agency. They willl bring you into a Virginia Courtroom to enforce the Pennsylvania Order but Virginia may not modify the Pennsylvania Order.

Sorry for the bad news.

Good luck.
