Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Underage paternity

Our son was 15 when his 18 yr old girlfriend became pregnant. The child is now a year old. They are no longer together and she has yet to file for support. He is not sure if his name is on the BC but the child bears her name? What actions should we be taking to safeguard his rights?

Re: Underage paternity

Your son can initiate a petition for shared custody. The court will address the issue of legal custody and physical custody.

Paternity should also be addressed at this time including DNA tests.
