Unmarried Father's Rights in PA

Does a man automatically have rights to take his child out of our home if he is not married to the mother? He signed the birth certificate in PA & we are in Arizona. According to AZ law, he has no rights without filing for them. But since the child was born in PA, does that make a difference? This guy is a deadbeat, living off the streets who suddenly wants to see his child, but not support her.

If the child resides in Arizona, then that is where he will have to file, unless the child has been in AZ less than 6 month. I would suggest getting something filed before he tries to. Feel free to contact my office to set up a consultation.

Unless he has a Court order indicating he is the Father, he has no legal rights. Thus, you could and should call 9-1-1 if ANY PERSON without legal rights were to take your child, including him.
