Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Visitation rights
I have 3 weekends a month with my 7 year old twin daughters. I have joint custody and I live in New Jersey. My ex-wife lives in Pennsylvania and has residental custody. Here is my question:
My ex-wife has put my daughters into a soccer team in P.A. and do to the schedule of games I will not be receiving my daughters untill after the Saturday game. Thereby I am loosing all of Friday and half of Saturday weekly till mid November 2008. My lawyer tells me I cant stop this, as the court will allow this court ordered visitation to be broken because activities in their community are for the childrens benefit. I imagine not seeing their father and their family is not thought of in that regard. However, How can I stop this so my visitation of 3 weekends per month is not stopped?

Re: Visitation rights
you can ask the judge to have them enter into a league in your area during your visitation time, and that you promise to take them every weekend they are with u! that would resolve the issue and they can come their regular visits. give me a call if u want to discuss other options.

Re: Visitation rights
What county in PA are we talking about? I assume the Court you have to visit for custody is in PA....
I generally do not give advice to people who are represented by other attorneys. However, With the limited info you have given, I think you may have some options. If you want to schedule a consultation, feel free to get in touch.

Re: Visitation rights
You could ask the Court to increase your visitation to four weekends in order to make up for the lost visitation.
Call me if you like.
