Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

If ex wife abandoned our home and moved out of state with her lover, then gave him power of attorney, can he come into my home at any time and go through my things? Can he send harassing texts and emails? If I had a so called friend live with me and provide little and no rent, can the lover threaten to take me to court?

Power of Attorney (POA) allows that agent to perform certain services that the grantor could have performed. Common examples are writing checks and executing important documents such as title transfers. It does not allow them to take greater action than the grantor could have taken. He has no more rights than your ex wife does.

Since you are divorced, I assume your residence does not have your ex wifes name on it. Therefore, neither she nor her agent would have any right to enter the property without your consent.

Regarding lawsuits, anyone can sue anyone at any time for anything. So, he could sue if he wants to, but I havent heard you describe any legal basis to do so.

I trust that answers your question, but feel free to call or e-mail on a free initial basis.
