Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My wife and I are divorcing. We are very willing to split all assets. I would like for us to keep joint ownership of the house, each paying half mortgage and she can continue to live in the house. When she would decide to no longer want the house we would split the equity of the house at that time. She is being advised not to do it but just sell the house and split the equity now. Can't we set up a legal agreement to have joint ownership of the house?
