Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My wife of six years decided that we needed to do a separation. Two months ago, she took our two year old son and moved to another state. I provide financially for both of them since she doesn't work. I want them both back, but she says she isn't ready and doesn't know when or if she'll be ready. She assures me that if she doesn't have our son around her, she won't heal and will not be coming back. Is there a certain period of time that I should be concerned about regarding my sons legal residence, and what can I do about it?

In four months, the new state will have jurisdiction of the matter. If you want to petition for visitation/custody rights in PA, do it now, or else in 4 months, you will have to hire an attorney in the other state, and pursue it there.

No its 6 months. Though you should have made a petition to prevent the removal of the child as soon as she left. You should take action at once.
