Re: family medical leave

You asked about the Family Medical Leave Act.

The FMLA is federal law and applies to all covered employers where eligible employees need to take time off to care for themselves or immediate family members for medical reasons.

Covered employers must allow eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave. The leave can be taken in increments of as little as one work day or in higher daily or periodic increments up to the full 12 weeks. Employers are allowed to require employees to exhaust any other available leave before using FMLA leave.

Regards,

Roger
