Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Arrest Warrant for abandoned vehicle

My boyfriends car was stolen in April while he was visiting me at college. We filed a report with the campus police. In July he was contacted by the city he car was found in. They said they had his car and he had to pay $1800 to get it back since it had been there since late April. No one had tried to contact him or let him know it had been found. We kept in cotact with the officer that took the report and he never told us anything. Well we just found out there is a warrant for my boyfriends arrest because they said he abandoned his vehicle. He is in the marines and is currently in Iraq. What do we do now? Does this mean that the officer that took the report did not file it correctly? And how is it possible that no one contacted him when they found the car?

Re: Arrest Warrant for abandoned vehicle

Your boyfriend needs to execute a power of attorney and retain counsel for representation so that someone may appear in court to dispute the fines. The sooner that this is done the greater the chance the court will be sympathetic and be willing to release the vehicle. I offer free consultations.
