Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

breach of oral contract

My boyfriend built a day care center, and told me and several other people that I was going to be his partner in the business. He recently informed me that he has changed his mind. I have quit my job and have devoted all my time to this endeavor for two years, now I'm left without a job. Do I have any legal recourse?

Re: breach of oral contract

You asked about breach of an oral contract.

Unfortunately for you (ex?) boyfriend he probably formed an oral partnership agreement. This isn't an easy thing to prove, but it's even harder to disprove. It really will be a matter of who can provide more evidence. There are many theories to proceed under and you'll need to discuss all the issues with an attorney to flesh out the complaint. Unless otherwise specified all partnerships are legally assumed to be 50-50.

Don't approach the boyfreind and speak with an attorney as soon as possible. You don't want to give the party any chance to destroy evidence or start syncing up his story with other folks.

You can contact me or an another attorney to handle this matter. You've got a good claim but time is ticking so start handling this now.

Regards,

Roger
