Do i have to appear in common plea court for civil action?Can i file something instead of showing up?

You do not tell me what you are being sued for. I assume you are the one being sued or you would not sk the question. No, you do not have to show up at all. However, the plaintiff (the one suing) will show up and get a judgment against you.

Can you file something? No. You had to file an answer within 20 days of being served the complaint. If you did not do that, the plaintiff will in all likelihood get a default judgment against you.

Beyond that, I really need more facts as to the kind of case it is.
