Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Country Club and Texas Holdem

We had a Texas Holdem at the country club I belong to. The club forced you buy dinner ($72) so you could participate in the Texas holdem, a $100 buy in. So thats $172 for the night. I refused to pay and have dinner but still played cards. Before the tournament, I had an argument with Board members because they said I could not play unless I bought dinner. I told them maybe we should get the police here to make a decision on the legality of making a profit off gambling. I played that night and received a charge for dinner and then they suspended me for a year from the club. They suspended me for being a threat to the club for saying lets call the police. What legally can I do to the club for profiting off gambling and suspending me?

Re: Country Club and Texas Holdem

Well, you could always report them to the police. Is the country club a nonprofit? My understanding is that the state police and liquor enforcement have made a decision to not enforce the law on nonprofits so long as there is no complaint. If this is a for-profit club, then the police will most assuredly enforce the law against them. They could face fines and lose their liquor license.
