If I have a friend of the family working in my home while I'm at work and this friend allows someone in without my knowledge and my dog bites her, am I liable?

I think it may depend on her purpose for being there. If she's there to assist your friend in performing whatever it is that he's doing for you, she might be in the status of a business invitee and a court might find you liable.
