Dog Ownership

My ex bought me a dog last year for valentines day. we broke up and now i have the dog and proof of ownership but she filed a complaint with the police stating that its her dog. If she files a restraining order can they take the dog away when i get served with the papers?

There are no restraining orders dealing with dogs.

The dog was a gift. It belongs to you. Can you prove she gave it to you as a gift?
