Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

false accusations/slander (I think)

My employer is making false accusations as to my work performance. She is insisting that I made errors, have not submitted things in a timely fashion, and accused me of confronting a supervisor to discuss another employees status. All of these accusations are false. I have talked with a supervisor who could help me, as she has documentation to prove me innocent of these lies. However, this supervisor has been FORBIDDEN to speak to me. She is fearful that she will loose her job. As a result of all of this nonsense, I was esentially demoted. I was supposed to go salary in a month (I am currently paid hourly), and I was due a big pay raise and a promotion in January.

What can I do? Help!! Can I do anything at all, or do I have to take this. I am loosing alot of money and it will tarnish my reputation! I have been at this company for four years! The company is having financial problems (I know this as my accuser was my friend until this happened). Thanks!

Re: false accusations/slander (I think)

Pennsylvania is an "employment at will" state so, unless you are under a contract of employment or in a union which has a contract, the employer may terminate your employment for any reason that does not violate public policy. Public policy violations would be terminations for race, religion, filing bankruptcy, and a few others.
