Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Freedom of Press

There was a picture publish in my university newspaper about a controversial topic but no article to support the photograph. I wrote a letter to the editor expressing my outrage and the want for them to publish an apology. The editor e-mailed me back and asked for my info, he said and I quote, ''Thanks for the letter. We'd like to run it and appreciate your concerns. Please

include your major and expected graduation date (i.e. senior, Class of 2008).'' Then they ran a story saying that they did not owe anyone an apology and use a sentence out of my letter which, out of context made me look like an idiot. I want to know if I have grounds to take legal action against the newspaper?

Re: Freedom of Press

Interesting question but it's impossible to answer. Even with more information it may be impossible to answer without filing a claim in court.
