Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

I gave a guy a security deposit for a house I was supposed to move into. I ended up not moving in because I found out that he doesn't pay his part of the bills. I never signed a lease. He didn't show up for court twice. I filed a writ of execution and I got a letter in the mail from the sheriff's office regarding a sheriff sale so I can get back my money plus court costs I invited people to the sheriff's sale because they are pub ilic and I found out that it may have been illegal. And I may have jeopardize. my case. Did I? I never bad mouthed the defendant or said anything negative I only spoke the truth.
