QUESTION: Is it posible to lose what I have inherited and any of my personal properties?

ANSWER: Yes. Without your giving more details, here are some possible scenarious:

1. The property that you inherited is subject to the debts of the estate of the decedent. An insolvent estate may mean that you get nothing;

2. If there is a contest to a will or heirship, the will that you propose might not be probated for a number of reason; or

3. You have received the inheritance and it is lost, squandered, or dissipated by you.

An inherited lawsuit does not mean that you will owe the claim. It means that the property that you inherited may first have to be applied to the estate's debts.
