Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Are interrogatories sent directly to opposing party or to their lawyer? I am representing myself in a civil case.

I do not mean to be rude, but representing yourself is a recipe for disaster in most cases.

If you are determined to represent yourself, the Allegheny County law library has a wealth of resources (so do the law libraries at Pitt and Duquesne). Read the rules of civil procedure - they are online and available free of charge at: http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/231/partItoc.html

Also read the local rules for your county. You can get those in the county law library if they are not available online.

You do not file interrogatories or other discovery materials with the court. If the opposing party is represented by counself, then you serve the interrogatories on counsel.
