Judgement

I recieved a letter that a creditor is going to take court action against me for a judgement against my personal property. What does this mean? Thank You.

This means that the creditor is going to sue you over the debt. If he/she wins, they will have judgment against you. The creditor can then cause the county sheriff to seize items of personal property (car, TV, Computer, Furniture) and auction them off until the amount of the debt is obtained. To avoid this happening, either you or your lawyer should attempt to negotiate a payment schedule with the creditor. The creditor will probably require you to sign a promissory note, which means that if you don't make the scheduled payments, he can go to court and automatically enter judgment against you. The best thing to do is see a lawyer.
