Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

judgement stalled

I have a Judgement in Pa. for 700.00 . It hasen't been renewed. I offered the lawyer a smaller amount to pay it so it would be satisfied. He wanted 2200.00 he` said he would get back. When he called back he asked for 1800.oo . What can I do ? Can I have the judgement removed or supressed because I don't have 1800.00 ? Please help.

Re: judgement stalled

The most you would have to pay to satisfy the judgment is $700 so why the opposing counsel is asking for more than twice that amount is puzzling.

A judgment is good for 5 years. At the end of that 5 years they can renew it for another 5 years. If they don't renew it then they can no longer enforce it.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
