Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Limited Liability Corporations

I am trying to assist my sister in setting us a business. She wants to form a Limited Liability Corporation, but we want to know whether it would be more legally advantagious in West Virginia where I reside, or Pennsylvania where she resides? The company would offer computer programming and network services.

I don't know enough about the law to decide which state would be most beneficial to us. Please advice.

Re: Limited Liability Corporations

I do not practice in West Virginia so I cannot compare its laws and procedures to Pennsylvania. In general, however, it usually makes sense to organize the business in the state where it is going to be conducted. If your sister is going to run her business in Pennsylvania, she still would have to register it here if it is organized in West Virginia.

Please feel free to contact me if you want assistance in organizing a Pennsylvania business.
