Non-Compete contract

I signed a non-complete contract upon my being hired at my current workplace. I would like to start my own small business in the same field...what is a worse-case senerio should my current employer wish to enforce it?

You asked about starting a competing business despite a non-compete agreement.

This is a common question and is very fact dependent. You need to speak with an attorney to determine if your particular situation would be prohibited by a non-compete or even if the non-compete is effective.

But first I would suggest you read The E-Myth. It's a book about becoming an entreprenuer.
