Slander is oral and libel is written - both are types of defamation. You do not tell me what was said or whether it was oral or written or even when it was said. I have no way to answer your question.

Did you actually lose your job? If not, then you may have no damages, but it will depend on what was said. And there might be a qualified privilege for statements that one co-worker makes about another; I would have to research the question.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this issue in further detail.
