sinkhole destroying house

on march 21,2003 while attempting to repair a pothole inthe alley next to my house,the borough road crew dug into a sinkhole.they filled the hole with stone and while using vibration to pack the stone my foundation wall was cracked.i don't have sinkhole insurance and the borough is claiming act of god and governmental immunity.as of 2/2/2004 the hole still remains open and the damage to my house has reached 72,000 dollars.do i have any options?

The question is whether or not the borough used outside contractors to fill the hole. If they did, it would seem that you have a good case. Further, I am not sure whether governmental immunity applies here. You should consult an attorney immediately.
